Parent Code of Conduct

At the Central Florida Lacrosse Club, we are committed to creating a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all participants. Our goal is to foster the growth and development of our young athletes while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. As parents and guardians, you play a crucial role in upholding these principles. We expect all parents to adhere to the following code of conduct:

Positive Role Modeling:

  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect, and fairness towards players, coaches, officials, and other parents at all times.
  • Encourage your child to display respect and sportsmanship during practices, games, and off-field activities.

Support for Coaches and Officials:

  • Respect the decisions made by coaches and officials. Refrain from arguing or confronting them during games or practices.
  • If you have concerns or feedback, address them in a respectful and private manner with the appropriate coach or club official.
  • Verbal Negativity toward the coaching staff can be extremely destructive toward a player's ability to listen to and respect their coaches.

Player Development:

  • Encourage and support your child's participation in lacrosse, focusing on their personal growth and development rather than solely on winning.
  • Allow coaches to handle player development and avoid giving conflicting instructions during games and practices.

Safety First:

  • Prioritize the safety of all participants and adhere to the guidelines set by the Central Florida Lacrosse Club for health, well-being, and injury prevention.

Inclusivity and Respect:

  • Embrace diversity and treat all players, coaches, and parents with respect, regardless of their background, skill level, or experience.
  • Refrain from making derogatory comments, engaging in bullying, or engaging in any form of harassment.

Parental Involvement:

  • Support the club and your child's team by actively participating in volunteer opportunities and fundraisers when possible.

Communication:

  • Maintain open and constructive communication with your child's coach and club officials, ensuring transparency and understanding.

Handling Disputes:

  • If a conflict arises, follow the club's established grievance procedure to address the issue appropriately and avoid public confrontations.

Compliance with Policies:

  • Familiarize yourself with and adhere to the Central Florida Lacrosse Club's policies, rules, and regulations.

Lead by Example:

  • As parents, we set the standard for our children. By displaying good sportsmanship and a positive attitude, we instill these values in our young athletes.

Failure to abide by this code of conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to warnings, temporary suspension from the club's events, or permanent removal from the club.

By adhering to this Parent Code of Conduct, we can ensure a nurturing and positive environment for all participants and contribute to the success and growth of the Central Florida Lacrosse Club.
