History
and Mission:
The Central Florida Lacrosse Club began in
the fall of 2004 with 2 boys teams and 2 girls teams. Our desire
was to provide middle school age players the opportunity to learn to
play the great game of lacrosse. Each season the league continues to
grow with hundreds of participants passing through the youth ranks
and going on to star in their respective high school programs.
Timber Creek, University, and Colonial high schools continue to
receive outstanding lacrosse players due to the efforts of this
group of dedicated administrators, coaches, current and former
lacrosse players and parents (who act as head coaches, assistant coaches and
referees).
We not only to teach the fundamentals of
the game of Lacrosse but also teach each player to "honor the game". Sportsmanship has long been a tradition in the game of Lacrosse and
our organization follows the recommendation of the National US
Lacrosse Organization. We do not keep score in games, and there are
no club standings. It's not about how many tournaments you go
to, it's about what and how you are being "Taught".
You won't hear our coaches screaming at your kids and we don't have
slick sounding names for our system of teaching. Our primary goal is
and always has been to prepare the youth of
today with solid fundamental skills and sportsmanship for their high school playing days and beyond. All
children in grades K-8th are welcome to play the game of lacrosse
with the "HAWKS".
We treat every student-athlete
with respect and are committed to helping our members find
opportunities to play the game at the high school level.
